Rhino Charge 2023
Campaign by Rhino Ark (RCN 1047083)
The Rhino Charge is an offroad 4x4 event where the cars and drivers work with their team to get their car around the course in the shortest possible distance. The funds raised go towards the protection of Kenya's water tower ecosystems.

Story

The Rhino Charge is an offroad 4x4 event that raises funds for the Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust's ecological projects that support various community-based conservation initiatives. Our Team number is 34 and our car is called Moto Moto (Big and Chunky!!) and we are raising funds in support of the Rhino Ark, one of Kenya's oldest and most successful wildlife conservation projects - all through our participation in the 2022 Rhino Charge. Here is a link to Rhino Ark (http://www.rhinoark.or.ke/).

Just a few more clicks and your generous donation will be on its way to the Rhino Ark and you will have played a part in preserving some of the world's most beautiful and amazing ecosystems for the future ... Want to know more? Read on ...

The Rhino Charge is an off-road orienteering and endurance event staged once a year in a remote part of Kenya (the actual location only being disclosed some 48 hours before the event!). Teams are required to navigate across some 150 sq kms of rough pure African terrain in a maximum 10 hours with the aim being to visit all 13 checkpoints in the shortest possible distance - Naturally this makes for some pretty hair raising experiences - including steep hill descents, river bed crossings and going through some of the thorniest and thickest terrain imaginable!!

The Rhino Charge is now in its 34th year and has raised millions of pounds for wildlife conservation and to secure the crucial water catchments that serve millions of Kenyan people. Rhino Ark is committed to maintaining and protecting these areas for eternity.

As a Team Moto Moto will be Charging for the 12th Year and to date we have personally collected over £60,000. All money raised by us goes DIRECTLY to Rhino Ark.

Please please please help us to support this extremely worthy cause that aims to preserve the African Forests, Water Resources and Wildlife for many generations to come. The Rhino Ark Aberdare Electric Fence is a world-renowned example of how to achieve a ‘win-win’ equilibrium that balances the needs of local communities with the goal of protecting nature and this has now been expanded to encompass Mt. Eburu and Mt. Kenya Ecosystems.
