Story

Friends, Family & All,

Thank you for visiting my London Marathon fundraising page!

On 2 October 2022 and 23 April 2023 I'm aiming to run the London Marathon(s) for Save the Rhino International and support Critically Endangered rhinos in Africa and Asia. I'll be joined by an incredible team of Save the Rhino International 'Rhino Runners' to run 26.2 miles for rhino conservation.

With 6 weeks notice until the day, the London Marathon(s) will be the hardest event I've entered to date and I look forward to the challenge as well as the opportunity to bring awareness to the World's No. 1 Endangered Species

On average a rhino is poached every 22 hours. The rhino horn trade is an illegal industry that continues to exploit wildlife and communities alike, and the brave men and women of Save the Rhino International risk their lives everyday to protect
the five rhino species in the world. It's an honour to run on their behalf.

It's hard to describe how much this means to me; it's a charity that is so close to my heart. As a kid I was fortunate enough to travel and see the beauty of the rhinoceros' in the wild firsthand. I didn't know it back then, but those experiences would go on to shape my entire life.

Here's a breakdown of where the money I raise will go, and how your donation will make a direct impact on rhino conservation:

  • £3 can provide a life-saving first aid kit.
  • £8 pays for a ration pack for one ranger.
  • £10 could buy a foam mattress for a ranger on patrol.
  • £15 could provide a teacher with a Conservation Guide education pack.
  • £20 can purchase a pair of handcuffs, to detain poachers.
  • £25 funds a day's food in the Sumatran Rhino sanctuary.
  • £50 can buy a waterproof jacket for the rainy season.
  • £75 can supply the medical supplies and care for a tracker dog.
  • £100 could pay for a public awareness event to reduce rhino horn demand in Viet Nam.
  • £110 is the price of a tracking tag for rhino horn.

*My sympathies and gratitude to the 3 runners from the North Luangwa Conservation Programme team, who could not be here for LM22 and whose position I will be filling on race day.*

Any and all donations are super appreciated, if you're able to. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.

Leeeets gooo!
