Story
**I'll be completing 215km of the Freedom50 Bike Ride from Birmingham to London E1, over 3 days (from 30 June to 2 July 2021).
It'll be my FIRST TIME: i) riding a road bike (still learning), ii) joining a cycling challenge and iii) riding more than 50km outside London in lycra :-) ....yes it happens to us all as we succumb to the Rasamalai of life.
*BUT WHY? We'll be raising funds for children in Bangladesh to stay safe, and to access education and support to grow and flourish... and to mark 50 years of Bangladeshi’s indépendance!
*This project is Zakat eligible. Please state in the message box, when donating, that this is a Zakat donation.
*I will be cycling from Birmingham to London, putting my life, reputation and butt in peril so do give generously to support kids in Desh OR simply because you want to see me risk it all :-)
The ride will start in Oldham, and will be stopping at Stoke on Trent, Birmingham, Coventry, Northampton, Luton and will finish in London E1 (Deshi trail) so that we can stop for proper Chai and Samosas! It's a 358km bike ride in total, over 5 days and I'll be covering 215km of those in 3 days.
What's Freedom50? It's national initiative with individuals and organisations that have come together to form a collective to celebrate 50 years of Bangladesh’s independence - key events that led to the independence of Bangladesh in 1971 will be recognised together with the role that British Bangladeshis played in the UK. This National Charity Bike Ride is one of the many events taking place.
***NOTE*** If you are a UK donor and tax payer, please remember to add Gift Aid to your donation at no extra cost to you. This will ensure that Human Appeal get their admin (25% of your donation) and other operational costs covered to continue with their much needed work.
