At a time of mass deforestation, seeing wild fires rage like infernos all around the globe in videos on social media is becoming too normal. Conserving the Earth's rainforest and promoting biodiversity is key in protecting the environment.

Trees and vegetation eat carbon dioxide, which helps reduce the greenhouse effect, and produce oxygen which most living things need to survive - including us.

Rainforest Concern work around the globe in fighting against mass deforestation, working with indigenous peoples to protect their homes and lobbying for rainforest conservation. The laudable work of this essential charity, and the ever growing threat of climate change, has inspired me to do what I can by raising money for this cause in running the London Marathon.

I am by no means a natural long distance runner but I am setting myself the ambitious target in running the marathon in under 4hrs  This is going to be a very challenging target but I wanted to make your sponsorship worthwhile.
