All donations to Venture Arts will be posted a (fully disinfected!) rainbow badge. Donations over £5 will be gifted multiple badges.

Read on to find out why we're busy at home with rainbow badge production...

In these difficult times I am more grateful than ever for the scientists; all those who are working tirelessly to understand the nature of coronavirus, those striving to get a vaccine ready in record time, those using data to work out the best tactics to slow it down and those treating the sick. It is the scientists who will keep our bodies healthy.

But we also need artists.

It is artists who will get us through this time with our minds and our souls in tact.

Through art in all it's forms - drawing, dancing, painting, music, stories, sculpture, film, plays, singing, poetry - we will not just survive, but thrive.

For the learning disabled artists who Venture Arts support their artistic practise is everything to them. Venture Arts is where they feel they belong; it’s the place they go to create, to learn, to see friends. For many of them art is their life, and Venture Arts is where they feel happiest.

Not being able to attend Venture Arts is incredibly distressing for them and our current situation is hugely disorientating for people for whom routine is crucial.

Venture Arts are doing everything they can to provide a service that directly combats the isolation their artists are experiencing right now.

The Venture Arts team has already started to:

• Prepare exciting creative projects for every participant to do at home.
• Send art materials to their homes.
• Use online software to connect with participants in face-to-face tutorials and chats.

Will you help them purchase iPads and art materials for their artists to ensure that they can give them what they need?

If you can afford to donate just a few quid we would be hugely grateful and send you a badge in the post as a thank you. If you do donate please email me your postal address at debrahjcowley@gmail.com

Thank you. Stay safe and well.
