Story
Rahul tirelessly fought a long battle with cancer, and did everything to get over his illness. Unfortunately his innings ended on Friday 22nd July 2022 at the young age of 52.
Rahul had his chemotherapy at the Helen Donald Unit at Watford General Hospital, and the team there played a key role in Rahul's care and treatment. In his memory we ask for any donations to be made to Raise, which is the registered charity for West Hertfordshire Hospitals.
The staff at the Helen Donald Unit were always warm, welcoming and helpful. Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the unit - Dr Al Sader, Jean, Dan, Helen, Joy, Hilary, Clare, Cynthia, Rebecca, Andreas, Lorraine, Marion, Marcia, Gul, Muna, Tanuja, Chris, Gilbert, Katrina, Sarah, Sharon, Mary Jean, Hannah, Julia and Karen (apologies to anyone we have missed).
The Helen Donald Unit is a day care unit with a small friendly team of staff who care for patients during their visit. They provide care for a number of specialties including haematology, oncology and other conditions requiring intravenous therapy. They understand that having to attend hospital can be a stressful and worrying time for patients and their relatives and the staff endeavour to make hospital visits as comfortable and stress free as possible.
We hope that the money raised in memory of Rahul will help them continue their wonderful work.
Many thanks in advance for your generous donations.
