London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·

We protect endangered mammals in the wild to build a better future for everyone

Story

Wildlife needs saving. I am running this marathon for one simple reason: if we don’t change society’s views regarding treatment of endangered species, we will lose wonderful creatures forever.

The David Shepard Foundation is an effective wildlife conservation charity funding key projects:

fighting for greater legal protection of endangered species;

funding international cross-border enforcement programmes;

building capacity of key law enforcement networks;

supporting undercover investigations into wildlife crime;

campaigning to bring an end to the trade in parts of endangered wildlife;

equipping and training rangers to protect vulnerable wildlife populations from poachers.

It aims to protect the lives of lions, elephants, snow leopards, leopards, rhinos and painted dogs to name just a few.

If we work together, I truly believe that we can create a world in which wildlife and humans can live harmoniously.

Thank you to everyone for reading this, and for your support and encouragement, both to me and for this important work.

Let the Marathon training begin!
