Focus Humanitarian Assistance Hike4Life Winter 2009 Uganda · 3 January 2010 ·

Story

Hi there, thankyou for taking the time to visit my page.

Over the christmas period , I will be embarking on a challenging expedition - up the mountains of Uganda , to raise funds for Focus Humanitarian Assistance. FOCUS was established to complement the provision of emergency relief, following natural disasters in the developing world, and to help build disaster-resilience in vulnerable communities. The goal is to help people in need reduce their dependence on humanitarian aid and facilitates their transition to sustainable, long term development.

Our Hike4Life 2009 challenge is to climb two mountains: Mt. Elgon (4321m) and Mt. Kaddam (3068m). We will be hiking for 6-8 hours a day, at high altitudes, for 5 days. On our way to the summit , we will encounter mountain rivers and pastures, rocky cliffs and uneven terrain. Mt. Kaddam is very seldom climbed, the trails are almost non-existent - but we are determined to climb it!

Your donations will help to improve opportunities and living conditions, for people of all faiths and origins, in specific regions of the developing world. Please sponsor me below - it would be really appreciated.
