Story
Bangladesh Emergency Flood Respond
AS-SALAMU ALAYKUM MY SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES,
My name is Rahena Anisha, I have recently visited Bangladesh from the 4th-25th of June 2022 to see some of my charities projects that I have been involved in & supporting during COVID-19, But than I got stuck in the BIG flood Sunamgonj in the 1st week of my trip!
During that period I stayed in Bhuigow Fulbary Chhatak, Sunamgonj where my family village is my father MOBAROK ALI home.
I Sheltered the local villagers in our family home,We catered from 70-80 guests everyday if not more on our top floor building from eating to sleeping arrangements I personally went and did the shopping in the local Jawa bazar TRAVELLING IN A BOAT AND PRIVATE VECHICE CNG (lol very fancy that was the only transportation available at the time)
Travelling back to the bari in the rain with shopping & cooking for everyone wanted to make there stay with us as comfortable as possible with NO ELECTICITY SERVICES TO CHARGE PHONES OR NO CONNECTION WITH THE OUTSIDE WORLD!
My Families was worried back in UK for ME !
Specially my children's back in London are seeing the horrific scenes online, I was out of communication with them for days but at times of difficulty everyone united in our Bari ,I too shared my bedroom with other guests SubhanAllah
A week after the flooding the guests started going back into their own homes only to find the devastating damages the floods has caused which has been unpredictable and unseen of in their lifetime and mines too.
Now I am back in London with my families I have shared my personal stories & experiences with my loved ones and some problems I was up against/ hardships which I was faced with many challenges on a daily basics from the price of living cost going up to buying rice packages and cooking oils and gas cylinders for cooking and travelling on a boat to get out of the Bari and the list goes on...
How it has mentally effected me I was by myself out there I had no choice other than to use my survive skills & giving HOPES to others kept me alive and knowing Allah swt is the BEST OF ALL PLANS Ameen!
It took me few months to understand what has really happened to me? Register and gather my thoughts together from back home with people lives physically, emotionally and socially broken!
The inferstruster of the roads, building has been so badly hit from the flooding I really needed to do something that will make a difference and bring back some HOPES for the vulnerable and needy INSHALLAH!
I have decided to join and run a productive campaign with CAP FOUNDATION TO HELP ME to raising funds to support and REBUILD THE DAMAGE LIVES IN (Bhuigow Fulbary village in SUNAMGONJ) where the flood has destroyed more then 30 houses.
YOUR SUPPORT & DONATION WILL CONTRIBUTE towards helping us build New Homes AMEEN.
