***PLEASE CLEARLY MARK ZAKAT MONEY AS 'ZAKAT'***
Supporting orphans has always been close to my heart but this year it just got a little closer. I will be trekking 10 London bridges whilst fasting because I want to support orphans as sadaqa jariyah (ongoing charity) for my cousin, Gulam Hussein & my mother in law, Hawarun Nessa Khatun.
In March 2016, my cousin, was fatally hit by a coach. He left behind an 8 year old son, Aniq and a young wife. Less than 6 weeks later, my mother-in-law lost her battle with cancer.
We have accepted that this is God's Will and the best we can do for them now, is to pray for them and give sadaqa (charity) in their name.
By Islamic definition Aniq is an orphan now. My husband and his siblings were also raised as orphans having lost their father when my husband was a baby and now their mother in their adult life. (But Alhumdulillah they are still blessed to be surrounded by loving families and have adequate means to get by. Other orphans are not so fortunate and that is why I want to help them get the best out of this short life.
Zakat money cannot be used as sadaqa jariyah for the deceased. But you can still DONATE your zakat here and fulfil your obligation and support a worthy cause. Just clearly mark your donation as zakat.
If you pay tax please opt for GiftAid at no extra cost to you.
JazakAllahu Khair!

May Allah accept it from all of us. May He save our loved ones from the punishment of the grave and grant them peace. May He reunite them with their families in jannatul ferdous. May He protect and guide the ones left behind, to be righteous and follow the path of Allah. Ameen
