Story
This week is Battle of Britain week also known as the RAF Association's Wing's Week, which is very similar to the British Legion's Poppy Appeal but dedicated to those who are ex RAF etc.
It won't have escaped anyone's attention that these past two years have been very difficult because of 'COVID-19' restrictions charities are really suffering, and in some cases failing. RAFA is an amazing charity but has been hit really hard, and is having to make challenging decisions to try to maintain it's care and support for those of the RAF 'Family' that so deserve and need it
In previous years, members of our branch has been out and about, face to face, collecting donations from the general public for our Wings Appeal to support the RAF Community.
Whilst we have managed to do a couple of outside events it is going to be "virtually" impossible to match the £7,000+ we managed to raise last year with out Wing Walkers raising so much money towards it.
As this isn't an option that can be done nationwide this year, the Global Branch are embracing our online status and doing it digitally. We are therefore encouraging you to 'donate digitally' this year, in what is the 81st Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
In these extraordinary times the RAF Association has had to adapt to take care of the members of the RAF Family.
Whatever you might have normally popped in a collecting tin please consider donating here instead.
This page already has £50 on it raised in 2020 but it would be nice to smash that figure to smithereens!!!! I know we, as a branch, can do this.
Our friends on Facebook, and we all have loads of them, need to see this link as I know they won't let us down. So please share this on your timeline to encourage everyone to give a few quid to this worthwhile cause.
This year Graham Croft, our Wings Appeal Organiser, is sorting out a variety of different ways that, YOU, our members can raise money for the Wings Appeal. This page allows you & your supporters to donate the money directly into the Global Branch's Wings Appeal. Please be generous!!!
Thank you for your donation however big or small
