Story
“The Lost Generation”
As Syria enters her 8th year of war, there has been a rise in fear of the “Lost Generation” as more refugee children have been forced out of school and into explotative child labour. Since March 2010, theres been an estimate of 5.6 million Syrian refugees who have fled to neighboruing lands for refuge, creating the largest refugee and displacement crisis of our time. Due to this, more than 40 percent of these children residing in Jordan, Lebanon etc. are not being educated and the number is rising due to a lack of funding , bullying in schools and being forced to work underpaid to make ends meet.
In association with Ebrahim College, Islamic Relief Help's Education for Syrian children have set an aim to combact this crisis by raising funds through ”The Snowdon Challenge”. With your support, we can help raise money to provide these children with the education they deserve. For every child enrolled in school, we aim to provide their family with enough money to ensure stable accommodation so parents will no longer have to worry about rent – thereby preventing children being forced to leave school to earn money.
