YMCA Lakeside has been working hard to raise £6.8 million to redevelop the School facility due to a lack of capital investment since the 1990’s. We need your support to keep changing young lives.

Story

The breakfast shows very own Scott Gallagher is joining forces with the YMCA and is taking part in the YMCA 3 Peak Challenge. The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours.The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) The total driving distance is 462 miles. 
This is all in aid of Lakeside YMCA.  Lakeside YMCA have a unique approach to facilitating the learning and development of young people and you can now help us, and them, on the journey. The new building work is underway, and so far have raised £6.3million of the £6.8 million target to create a 265-bed state of the art facility on the southern shores of Lake Windermere. One million children and young people have had the opportunity to take part in a ‘Lakeside experience’ since the centre first opened its doors in the1950s, including Many children from Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde.
