Story
In 2021 we sadly lost our friend and teammate, Matthew Pullan, to cancer. Matthew was a remarkable young man and an inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of meeting him. Matthew was diagnosed with cancer whilst still a toddler and in 2006 had a brain tumour removed. He went on to recover well and lead an active life, representing his schools in basketball, cricket and football as well as running for Radcliffe Athletic Club. However in 2020, after falling a few times whilst running, an MRI revealed that Matthew had another brain tumour. Despite Matthew tackling the problem head on, like he did with everything in life, he ultimately succumbed to the disease and passed away in September.
In September 2022, almost exactly one year since Matthew passed, over 30 runners from Radcliffe Athletic Club as well as his twin brother and uncle, will be running the Great North Run in Matthew’s memory. We will be raising money for Brain Tumour Research. Matthew was a tireless campaigner for Brain Tumour Research helping use his experiences to raise awareness of the cause. Please help us, help them, by giving generously.
