Story
Story of #fightingptsdvicpol
Over the years, We have seen many of our Victoria
Police members and retired Veterans leave the job due to mental health and PTSD
related issues.
Unfortunately at the same time we have seen a few
of our VICPOL friends take their own lives which we never want to see happen.
Our aim is to raise the awareness as we support the
#fightingptsdvicpol campaign whilst raising tax deductable donations to go
towards safe and secure treatment for our work collegues. These donations and
others are being held in the Blue Ribbon Mental Health. To date the Drop a Cop
event has raised over $3,048.37
So how do we raise awareness.
Well on Friday the 15th January 2021, we are going
to drop a cop from the sky to take a LEAP for mental health and why not start
from the top. We asked Deputy Commissioner Rick NUGENT who holds the Victoria
Police Mental Health portfolio if he would jump onboard and of course without
hesitation he has accepted the challenge.
Deputy Commissioner Rick NUGENT has been a proud
supporter of the campaign for many years and will be tandem skydiving with
Skydive Australia and Detective Sergeant Lee BARTON to help raise awareness and
to say that its OK to take a LEAP and ask for assistance.
Thank you for everyone for your support with the
#fightingptsdvicpol campaign which has been running now for the past 4 years
