What a day!! Sunday was up there with one of the best days of my life. There's no denying it wasn't tough (especially in 23 degrees of heat) but I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
Running with so many people who were raising money for charity, was both humbling and inspiring (leaving me a lump in my throat on a number of occasions). I feel proud to have taken part but really chuffed to bits that I was able to rise to the occasion and complete the course in 4 hours and 26 minutes.
I must tell you that there is nothing quiet like running around with 36,000 other people, whilst an awesome crowd cheers you on, shouting out your name. Then meeting friends and family at the end after they have watched from different points around the course - then sharing a bottle of champagne to celebrate! (After having a much needed cup of tea and a massage at the
reception).
I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for helping me to raise my target amount for
- it was a great incentive to get me out running on those dark and cold nights in the winter months. And I never thought I'm manage to raise the target amount, let alone blow it away!
Many thanks to all of you.
One final thank you to Ben Briggs, my running partner, who planned and helped me get through all the long training runs, I am indebted to you Ben.
