Colour Rush Run · 29 May 2021

We increase access to quality education to improve literacy rates.

Story

I am running to raise money for the charity pencils of promise. During the last year we have all realised the importance of education and how fortunate we are to have one. I believe education is a right and I have been given this opportunity to raise money and donate to a charity that helps millions.

Thank you so much.

Pupils in Year 10 at The Perse School are taking part in a 5km run to raise money for Pencils of Promise. The Colour Obstacle Rush is an un-timed run, where participants or Colour Runners, start in a white t-shirt and are covered from head to toe in different powdered colours at each kilometre. There are also 20 blow up obstacles to navigate along the way! Year 10 pupils are taking part in this event to raise money for Pencils of Promise, which is an international charity that aims to provide an education for millions of children across the world.

About the charity

We believe where you start in life shouldn’t dictate where you finish. In partnership with local governments and communities, we will continue to provide students with access to safe primary schools, implement proven programs, invest in teacher quality and assess student progress in high-need areas. Our long-term vision is that our literacy-focused model will be available for governments and partners to adopt and scale incrementally beyond PoP schools.
