Story
I am taking on the Cardinal Hume Centre's Big 4000 Challenge! Many refugees travel over 4000 miles to reach safety so I am joining the Big 4000 to help the Cardinal Hume Centre cover 4,000 miles like the journey that so many refugees face. I will be taking on the challenge by sailing 400 nautical miles with our crew on Lutine of Helford from the Hamble to St Katherine Docks which will take around 4000 minutes and a huge amount of victualling! This is also in Celebration of Lutine of Helford's 70th Birthday as this classic yacht, a Laurent Giles designed Bermudan Yawl was built in 1952 commissioned by Lloyd's of London Yacht Club.
Please sponsor me so that the Cardinal Hume Centre will be there to support families and young people to thrive. £25 could pay for specialist advice for a family to stay in their home; £50 could pay for a bedding and essentials pack for a child refugee moving in to their new home at the Cardinal Hume Centre; £250 could support round the clock care for young people like Mohsen living in our hostel. Whatever you can give you will be helping to turn lives around. Thank you so much and wish me luck!!
