Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Earlier this year some close friends suffered a miscarriage and that made us realise the emotional impact that causes and how the process can be very lonely.. It made me think about how I could help, how talking helps and that there needs to be more support out there for couples who experience this and opportunities for them to process and grieve for their loss in a way that helps them.
Through putting myself through a physical and mental challenge, I hope to be able to raise awareness of miscarriages and how to support those that need it, I also hope to raise some funds for the Early Pregnancy Ward at Queens Hospital, Burton so that they can invest in the facilities and services available to couples during such traumatic times.
In essence, mental health matters and if by doing a little can make a difference, then it’s worth the effort. Miscarriages happen frequently, but talking about it is not easy, let’s see if we can do something to change that.
I’m lucky enough to have some amazing support from professionals, who are guiding me, coaching me and repairing me before the event. These include The University of Wolverhampton; Andy Lane and Dan Robinson and Paola Iorio the best osteopath out there.
So, on the Bank Holiday Weekend in August I will be running the National Forest Way in both directions (hopefully) and for those that know me you won’t be surprised to find out that I don’t plan on stopping- 150miles in one run; what could go wrong?
