Story
There are around 3,200 new cervical cancer cases diagnosed in the UK every year, making it the most common cancer for women under 35. Last year in April 2020 I was one of those women. I was incredibly lucky to have an early diagnosis, meaning I was able to be treated quickly and effectively. However needless to say, last year really took an effect on my fitness!
Having just passed a year since diagnosis, I want to use the opportunity to both challenge myself and raise some money for a wonderful charity that supported me through that period. I’ll be taking part in The Eve Appeal’s GetLippy 5k run on Sunday May 16th. Those that know me well will appreciate that I’ve never willingly run anywhere before, so completing a 5k is certainly a challenge...
Any donation is greatly appreciated. Please wish me luck for May 16th!
The Eve Appeal is the UKs leading gynaecological cancer charity. We fund life-saving research and raise awareness of the five gynaecological cancers: womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal.Throughout May, we want everyone to Get Lippy about gynae health to help smash taboos, encourage open and honest conversations, raise awareness of signs and symptoms and fund life-saving research as well as our Ask Eve service. By making a donation, you can help to do just that. You can help stop gynaecological cancers before they start. Thank you much.
