LSH are hosting a number of events this year in aid of Headway Thames Valley. Music Therapy costs £10,000 a year. Headway TV have so far raised half of this, Lambert Smith Hampton could help to raise the remaining £5,000.
Music Therapy is available to clients one day per week at their Rehabilitation and Activity Centre in Henley. Clients can choose to do a range of Music Therapy sessions either one to one or in small groups, including learning to play an instrument and singing in the choir.
Music Therapy can help multiple areas of brain function, improving memory recall, speech, attention, awareness and boost physical strength and coordination. It also promotes confidence and well-being.
The Headway Thames Valley Choir gives the opportunity for a larger group to come together. Twice a year the Headway Thames Valley Choir perform a concert for family, friends, supporters and the local community. Headway Thames Valley is a community and social network that brain injured people come to belong to. Music Therapy helps to bring our clients closer together with other brain injury survivors.
