Story
I will be taking part in the Two Castles Run on 12 June 2011. It’s a 10km/6.3mile run from Warwick Castle to Kenilworth Castle. For those that know me well you'll appreciate I am not the most athletic person so this is a real challenge for me! Fingers crossed I get over the finish line still running!
I will be raising money for the National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease (NACC). Crohn's and Colitis are inflammatory bowel diseases which last a lifetime and for which there is no cure. They can strike at any time but most commonly children, teenagers and young adults.
Symptoms can include relentless diarrhoea; bleeding; severe pain; exhaustion; eye, skin and joint problems, and in the case of children, impaired growth. The condition can therefore have a devastating impact on education, work, social and family life.
I have chosen this charity as my brother, Ed, was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when he was 16. He has had to have big operations and takes medication everyday. The charity helps people with the disease in many ways including funding much needed research.
I would be very very very grateful for your sponsorship to the NACC!!
