Fundraising for Ehlers-Danlos Support UK
In April 2011, Dad was diagnosed with type 4 Ehlers Danlos, a rare genetic disorder that meant his blood vessels and organs were prone to rupture. Dad suffered an aneurism, and whilst it almost took his life, surgery, time and mental motivation all contributed to his recovery, and by the following year he was back to his old self.
On 22nd October 2012, however, I recieved a phone call at univeristy explaining how Dad had suddenly passed away. The hereditary nature of Ehlers Danlos means unfortunately my brother and aunty have also inherited the disorder, so they attend regular scans to monitor their health.
Raising money for this charity allows for continuous research into new ways to aid the effects of the disease. Whilst there is no known cure for type 4 Ehlers Danlos, additional resources can supply knowledge into the treatment of affected patients.
A donation any size would be so much appreciated by my whole family!
Thank you :)
