Diverse Abilities do amazing work for so many children and adults with disabilities in the local area including for my brother Sam, so when I decided to take part in a charity event they were my first choice to help to raise money for.

I was having a crazy moment when I signed up for the Arctic Challenge but I am so glad I did now as it is something that will change my life for the better and Im sure learning how to build a shelter in Arctic conditions is something Im bound to need for the future?!

The challenge includes: ski trekking, husky sledding, constructing a snow hole for sleeping, snowmobiling, cooking outdoors and keeping fires alight, ice fishing, shelter building.

This challenge is set over 8 days in January and the temperatures range from 0 to minus 30.
