To mark our very special boy Oliver's recent 5th Birthday I will be running the Great South Run on 30th October 2011.

At 6 days old we were told not to expect him to survive the night, however thanks to the amazing staff and facilities available at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Southampton General Hospital he did more than survive and is proving everyone wrong!

We all hope to never be in the situation where our children need these facilities however we have lived this nightmare and Oliver is just one example of the amazing work at PICU Southampton. We were very lucky that a bed within the unit was available as those first few hours of treatment to him made the difference between life and death.

No amount of money can ever repay them for saving Oliver but please please please support me, however small in raising money for this fantastic cause as without them none of us would have experienced the joy of Oliver's smile and his tremendous spirit for life.
