Story

**Update on 27/10/09 - On Sunday I managed to complete the Great South Run in 1hr56mins.  Amazingly, the Great South Run broke with tradition and we had sunshine for the race.  As with the half marathon, whenever I was struggling to continue I thought about why I was doing it and of all of you supporting me which gave me the boost to keep going.  Thank you to everyone who donated money to this very worthy cause. I am very touched by how generous everyone has been and I know that it means a lot to Anna and her family too.**

**Update on 28/09/09 - Yesterday I completed the New Forest Half Marathon in 2hrs23mins which I am really pleased with!! The last 2 miles were particularly painful, but the knowledge that so many people had supported me and that I was doing it for Olly really kept me going so a big thank you to every one of you for your donations.  I am now feeling confident for stage 2 - the Great South Run in a months time!! **

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have chosen to run for The Sick Children's Trust for some very personal reasons.  I will be running both the New Forest 1/2 Marathon and the Great South Run through this page for the same cause.

On 1st March 2009 my very good friend Anna gave birth to Oliver 10 weeks early.  Olly wasn't very well as he was so premature and he needed to go to Great Ormand Street Children's Hospital for some help.

While he was up there, Anna was able to stay close by thanks to The Sick Children's Trust and their Homes from Home.  Olly and Anna stayed in London for 3 weeks and during this time Anna didn't have to worry about leaving Olly, or being too far away from him.  It did exactly what it promised and provided her with a home from home exactly when she needed it.

Oliver and Anna are now back in Portsmouth, but we did not want to forget the peace of mind that The Sick Children's Trust gave Anna, and so I wanted to do something to help them to continue to provide this worthy service.

And so on September 27th, I will be running the New Forest 1/2 Marathon and on October 25th the Great South Run.  A total of 23 miles for a very good cause - so please sponsor me what you can!
