Story
I am taking on the Manchester Half Marathon 10th October 2021 to raise as much money as possible for Lupus Uk to help with research and treatments which maybe possibly one day lead to a cure . Also in memory of my Mum Marcia Cooke
Just after she had me and still in her early 20’s she was diagnosed with this horrible disease she didn’t know what it entailed or what the future held but in all honesty neither did the doctors back then , and still to this day there are not so many doctors that even know what it is never mind understand it
Aged 44 she suffered a massive heart attack and in an instant she was gone , there was no warning this was going to happen in fact she was due to come home from one of her many many hospital stays that very day after getting control of her diabetes again , lupus makes this extremely hard to control
Everything this horrible disease could possibly Chuck her it did ! Everything that she could possibly have wrong with her she did yet she still smiled and carried on every day
My mum was the most amazing beautiful person you could ever meet and she was absolutely hysterical and made us laugh so hard from her funny mannerisms to her wicked sense of humour 🤣 she was the best mum me and my brothers could ever had asked for from kicking our backsides when we needed it to picking us up when we were down and despite all of the problems she faced daily she was always there for us no matter what
she took on lupus like a worrier, and she fought it with everything she had every day , there were times it was was so hard and she just wanted to give up and to be honest she nearly did a couple of times , but she kept fighting and fighting
If I can raise enough money that can help just one person live a better quality of life then it’s all going to be worth it
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this , and if you can donate I will be forever great full 🥰❤️
