Story

This journey began when a friend of mine approached me after yoga to see if I would be interested in running a half marathon.  Since I had not run for more than a minute in over 10 years, I was admittedly a bit skeptical.  However, she assured me that with proper training, I can do this.  Also, I could run for myself by merely paying the entry fee, or run and raise money for a charity of my choice.

That is when I sought to run for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.  Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is the only UK charity dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for all blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

I don't often talk about it, but my dad is a lymphoma survivor who has been in remission for 20 years.  The treatment that saved his life may have also contributed to his heart attack, which he had at age 50.  He is healthy now and will be celebrating his 61st birthday this year.  He is an inspiration to me, and I plan on running for him and for those still seeking treatment.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.
