Story

“Covid-19 does not cause domestic abuse, only abusers are responsible for their actions.” Sarah Davidge, Research and Evaluation Manager at Women’s Aid.

The number of women and children killed by their partners has doubled since lockdown. Many more are in immediate danger. Women's Aid is doing everything they can support these women right now and is preparing for the surge of survivors seeking help as soon as lockdown ends.

The London Marathon would have taken place on Sunday 26th April. The cancellation of this, and many other events like it, mean charities are hugely impacted by the lost of fundraising income - especially now when they need it more than ever.

Please consider donating £26 (or whatever you can afford) to Women's Aid to help them save lives. Instead of volunteering at the London Marathon, I am running 2.6 miles (not 26.2 miles - I'm not marathon fit, that would be silly!) on my balcony on the 26th April. I 'think', if I've done the maths correctly, that will be approximately 523 laps of the balcony. I will use my Garmin to measure the correct distance on 'indoor' mode.

Thank you for your support.
