We provide independent advice and campaign to prevent deaths at the hands of the state

Story

Hello,

I am raising money for INQUEST, the only charity that supports families bereaved by state related deaths, including deaths in prison, police custody, mental health settings and where wider issues of state and corporate accountability are in question such as the deaths following the Grenfell Tower fire.

They work directly with bereaved people, empowering them through the post-death processes to establish the truth. This work informs their statistics, research and policy work, which they use to exert pressure on public bodies and government, to drive systemic change. Read more about INQUEST here: www.inquest.org.uk/about-us

I work full time as a chef, but have long been interested in social justice, such as issues with police and the criminal justice system. After long hours it is hard to have the energy to get involved, so I wanted to do my bit and contribute to an organisation which is close to my heart.

My partner Lucy is the Policy and Communications officer at INQUEST. I see firsthand how hard everyone at Inquest works to make a difference. I only started running a few months ago and she suggested I signed up, and I was more than happy to help INQUEST in any way possible.

INQUEST is entirely funded by donations and grants, so your contribution goes directly to their work and every donation makes a difference. Thank you for reading and considering donating! All donors will get to see a sweaty post-run picture, and my eternal gratitude.
