In August 2012 I lost be lovely mum, Liz far too soon to cancer, Saint Catherine's hospice cared for her in the last six weeks of her life and were so kind to us when we needed them. I owe them hugely for the care they gave her, but not many people know is that they cared for me too. After having Scarlett and loosing my whole family I fell apart and the amazing bereavement support team managed to stick my broken pieces back together again. I received many hours of counselling and started to make sense of my new world with so many people missing from it. 

The Rockies Challenge particularly hits home and feels like its 'meant to be' as it was the trip that my mum and I were meant to take, it was all booked and paid for but had to be cancelled as mum became to ill to go. In 2020 I will do 'our' trip and think of her and hope she proud. She loved Canada and I am truly sorry she never made her 'dream holiday!' 

I would also like to thank my amazing husband Mike who always supports me, always raises me up and always reminds me every day that life is for the living....look up and kick on!!!
