Story
Seven years ago I ran the London Marathon for the first time and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Despite the black toenails, endless miles and inability to walk afterwards, I was overwhelmed by the crowds, the camaraderie and the huge sense of pride that I felt. Therefore, it was very difficult to turn down the opportunity of a place with the Mulberry Bush school again. I'm not sure it's wise to ever try and replicate such a fond memory, but I am really excited about giving it my best shot. This time my family will be there to cheer me on and I can't wait for them to share the day with me.
If you are able to offer any donation it will be gratefully received as I head into some high mileage weeks.
The work of the Mulberry Bush School
Our work transforms the lives of all those affected by childhood trauma, through specialist therapeutic services. Founded in 1948, we are proud of our strong Therapeutic Community heritage and continue to build on how it informs our practice and services, enhancing the links between; Practice, Teaching and Research. Here at The Mulberry Bush, we understand the devastating effects that trauma, neglect and abuse can have on a child's developing brain. All our work is underpinned by research and a belief in working closely, not only with the children themselves, but also with their families and wider communities, resulting in a shared commitment to improve the lives and life skills for all those made vulnerable by childhood trauma.
