Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am helping to raise money for Access Bedford, which was established in 2013 by 4 Bedford volunteers who wanted to bring together the deaf Community to socialise and work with services to be more deaf aware.
In 2015 Access Bedford became a registered Charity. Their aim is to work with the deaf and hard of hearing community to make Bedford Borough more accessible. They support the deaf community by holding events that get people together to discuss what is needed in Bedford. From this we talk to services and providers and look at how to improve accessibility issues so that deaf people can get access to the information they need. They offer many services, including providing translating and interpreting services, helping provide guidance to the deaf community, holding social events and they also hold British Sign Language classes.
Having met people who have been supported by Access Bedford, I feel privileged to be raising money for this small but essential charity.
