Story
On Tuesday 23rd November 2016 i took myself to surgery for what I thought was going to be “routine” to remove an ovarian cyst. 2 months later I went for a follow up appointment to find out that for an unknown amount of time 2 large tumours had been slowly growing on my ovary and gradually turning into a rare form of ovarian cancer.
As happy as it was knowing they had managed to remove the tumour, keeping everything intact without me knowing I had the dreaded C word my whole life turned upside down. I needed a hysterectomy and had 3 days to decide if I wanted to take the biggest risk of my life and meet someone I loved, have a family and fulfil what I wanted to do with my life on a ticking clock or take everything away and miss it all. I chose to wait.
4 years later I have had scans every 6 months, blood tests every 3 months, numerous consultants, fertility tests and a whole lot of scares but we made it through them all stronger than ever!
This Tuesday 23rd November 2021 marks the big 5 years all clear, I now have the family I always wanted and getting ready to make the big decision of when to finalise my treatment knowing I will be able to look after him without anymore worry! This is my biggest achievement to date and couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than to give something back to help those who aren’t always so lucky. No matter how big or small the donations are every penny helps towards someone’s fight with cancer ❤️
Thank you all in advance ❤️
