I believe that if we ourselves have had the fortune of access to education we have a duty to create opportunities for others. 

Originally scheduled for summer 2020, I will join a team of 26 women, most of us education leaders travelling to northern Rwanda. 

The project was rescheduled in light of travel and safety restrictions as we move through the global Covid pandemic. Our planning for the trip funding continues as we look towards summer 2021. The dates may further change, but commitment to the project does not.

Our mission has two parts:

1) to raise funds for the construction of three classrooms and a toilet block for a girls school in Muko.

2) team then travels to Rwanda, rolls up our sleeves and gets stuck into the construction of the unit, clearing the área and building the foundations!

During our time in Rwanda, I also hope to learn more about @ActionAid education projects, share leadership experience and teacher training.

An exciting and hands-on journey ahead for Rwanda Team.
