Story
Jeff is leaving the UHS after working as Head of Estates Projects in EFCD for the last six years, where he has successfully overseen the delivery of numerous complex projects, such as the GICU phase 1 development, Ward C2 and the new Ophthalmology OPD.
Jeff is off to pastures new to lead the New Hospital’s Programme at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, and will be much missed by all in the UHS family.
When being probed for leaving gift ideas from his colleagues, Jeff identified that he would not like to have a leaving gift per se, but if people were kind enough to give something, he would like this to be a donation to the GICU Phase 2 development.
Therefore, in line with his wishes, we have set up this page so that friends and colleagues who might like to say cheerio and good luck, and make a donation in his name, can do so easily and fuss free!
Our intensive care unit in Southampton is 46 years old, and the rooms are not designed to cope with the huge demand for our care. 2020 has challenged us like never before, however our staff have gone above and beyond every day since the coronavirus pandemic began. While the building works to extend our general intensive care unit was completed in September, right now we urgently need your help to equip the new unit for our staff and patients. We currently treat 2,500 patients every year, and all will receive some form of rehabilitation. The Charity is raising £1million to provide a dedicated rehabilitation space, a palliative care suite to allow for a dignified death, a relatives quiet room so that families can be close to loved ones, as well as décor and plants to bring the outside in to create a more tranquil environment. Help us to provide a unit that will completely revolutionise the standard of intensive care for everyone in Southampton.
