Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have set up this page as my 11 year old son Oliver wants to do the Boxing Day Dip to raise money in memory of his cousin, Shannon.
Shannon died 4 years ago from a rare form of childhood cancer, Rhabdomyosarcoma. She was 16 years old and had a very close relationship with Oliver, who adored her. Anyone who knew Shannon would agree that she had the most amazing smile that would just light up a room, she is greatly missed every day.
The year that Shannon died a group of us did the Boxing Day Dip alongside Shannon’s Dad, my brother, Don. Oliver was very keen to join us back then but he was only 7 years old. It was something that we did because Shannon was born on Boxing Day.
Oliver approached me a few weeks ago & asked me if he could do the Boxing Day Dip this year as it would be Shannon’s 21st Birthday. He has chosen to raise money for Taylor Made Dreams who, in his words, made Shannon happy before she died. Sadly, Shannon didn’t get to do everything that the charity were arranging for her before she died. She did get to, amongst other things, go to Drusilla’s to meet and feed a sloth, which was a magical day. Taylor Made Dreams provide incredible memories for children with life limiting illnesses.
