Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In February last year just as we were about to celebrate my mum was 5 years cancer free we were given the devastating news that my mums cancer had returned and it was terminal. All my mum asked for was to spend as much time with us as she could and look after her grandkids as long as she could. We were then faced with lockdown along the rest of the world and her wishes were taken away.
Over the year my mum never complained, she carried on with a smile on her face right until the end and on 22nd October shortly after her 57th birthday she passed away. Despite the pandemic during her final days the hospice meant we could be together as a family, the care and support they have provided to us has been amazing.
My mum was a huge supporter of the work St Mary's do and after going through this experience I can only describe the staff as angels. The hospice provided a peaceful place where my mum could live her final days with dignity and with her family around her. They have continued to support our family since my mum passed away and are helping us to cope through this difficult time.
If there is one thing that this year has taught us its that you really don't know what is around the corner. The hospice rely on 82 percent of the 3.5 million they need to continue offering these service purely from donations.
If you can spare a donation no matter how small we would be extremely grateful.
Wish us look in taking on the highest mountain in England at NIGHT and let's hope we can smash our target for such a great cause.
Thank you
