We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

My brother Robert and I have planned a 20 mile walk down memory lane around our lovely city to raise money for Alzheimers research. We have picked a route that holds very special memories for our mum who unfortunately cannot remember these memories for herself. So we will remember them for her.

Most of you will know our story but just in case you don't. This is a cause so close to our heart because our precious mum was diagnosed with this horrendous disease 14 years ago at the age of 56. Mum is now 70, she is in a nursing home being cared for by the most wonderful bunch of people specifically trained in dementia care. She can no longer walk, or eat, or talk and she sleeps most of the time now. She is fading before our very eyes. We grieve for someone who is still with us. That's the reality of Alzheimer's disease. It is called the long good bye for a good reason

We want to raise as much money as we can to find the cure for this horrible illnes.  we do not want other families to have to go through this

So join us,  walk with us,   even if  it is just part of the way, we would be delighted to see you.
