Story
I am running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on the 1st August. While I got a ballot place, I've decided to use the opportunity to raise money for a great charity and cause that is very close to my heart! Brain injuries and neuro conditions/injuries are devastating to many individuals and all of their family and friends, and this fund will help make the traumatic experience that little bit easier for many people who find themselves in this situation.
Any donation, no matter how much, would be very much appreciated! Thank You.

About the Neurorehabilitation Unit Appeal at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London:
The Neurorehabilitation Unit (NRU) provides rehabilitation for people over the age of 16 with the most severe life-changing brain and spinal cord disorders. We want to fund the redevelopment of the NRU to improve both the working and clinical environment for patients and staff, but most importantly to the day room which is the main living space and hub of the unit. The new day room will feel welcoming and relaxed, where those affected can live the next two to six months of their lives. There will be a play space for visiting children, and a quiet area where patients can enjoy time with their families and loved ones. There will be better access for those in wheelchairs to move around more easily, plus the creation of a reception area to allow the ward clerk to assist visitors as they enter. This level of safeguarding is particularly crucial given the vulnerability of the many patients with cognitive impairments. £120,000 is needed to support this vital project.
