Story
Hi! My name is Rachel and it's fair to say that I've spent most of my life being lazy... But now I've decided I'm going to climb the UK's tallest mountain Ben Nevis at midnight (eek) for Alzheimer's Society.
Why am I doing this? First of all, Alzheimer's Society is a charity I really believe in. Recently my Nanna - one of my most favourite people in the whole world - was diagnosed with this horrible disease. It's been heart-breaking for our family but charities like Alzheimer's Society provides support for people in our situation.
Secondly, why did I choose to climb Ben Nevis? Well... it's going to be a huge challenge. Some people like climbing mountains. I don't. Whenever I go on walks in the countryside with my boyfriend and dog, I usually moan and cry whenever we have to go uphill. I do everything I can do avoid going up that hill.
I figured I would have to do something which I am not going to enjoy, and climbing Ben Nevis is such a thing.
Just to add a bit more drama, I will be climbing Ben Nevis at midnight. I am a very ratty person when I don't sleep, so this will just add to the pain.
But I'm not a quitter - so I will see through this challenge and all the blisters and tiredness I will encounter on the way.
Any money you donate (a huge thank you!) will go towards helping people with Alzheimer's and their families. I have chosen £400 as my target but anything above that would be amazing. The money will go towards all the services which Alzheimer's Society offers, including Dementia Cafes and support for carers.
Thank you for visiting my page and a MILLION thank-yous if you have donated :)
