Story
Hi Everyone!
I have been lucky enough to secure a place running in the TCS London Marathon on 2nd October 2022 for ARC (Antenatal Results and Choices [arc-uk.org]). ARC is an amazing charity supporting parents and professionals through antenatal screening and beyond in the event of foetal anomalies.
Each year over 20,000 expectant parents are told that their baby may have a genetic or structural condition. ARC is the only national charity to provide non-directive information and support to parents, whatever decision is made about the future of the pregnancy.
In July 2021, my son Jacob was diagnosed with a foetal anomaly that meant he was not compatible with life. As you can imagine this news was devastating. I was forced to make the most difficult decision of my life, and one that no parent should ever have to make and end a much loved and much wanted pregnancy.
For me, ARC have been a fantastic source of information and support, not only around the time of diagnosis and decision making, but now in the months after, with their continued support around dealing with loss, bereavement, and considerations for future pregnancies.
Please support me in taking on this tremendous challenge! All donations made by you will ensure that future parents and professionals will continue to have access to a range of information and support services.
