Story
This year at Sibford School we celebrate 175 years and I'm going to set myself a challenge to log up 175 km of challenges by September 2018.
Sibford School, where I work, decided to make Cancer research one of their charities for the annual Snowdon climb, so I'm going to continue to collect through the course of the year for this vital charity and see if I can hit 175 km of mileage through these events.
In order to do this I will be climbing Snowdon on Saturday September 30th 2017 with Issy and other members of the school (approximately 14km up and down + extra to beginning of the ascent end of descent) - DONE - Total distance 24Kms
For the rest of the year, I have currently got the following lined up:
Running a 10K trail run in November at Cornbury Park: DONE - Total distance 10km - Total distance so far 34 km- Total distance left to go - 141km
Milton Keynes half marathon on December 10th - 21km (followed by orchestra in the afternoon - have pity on me!) This was sadly postponed due to the 8 inches of snow we had, however, I have moved my entry to December 2018, so it will still happen, albeit belatedly.
Ilmington winter series 10K run on December 30th DONE. Total distance 10km - Total distance so far, 44km - total distance left to go - 131km
London Winter Walk 20km January 14th 2018 - walking this with my hubby. DONE. Total distance 20km - Total distance so far, 64km - total distance left to go - 111km
Gayton 10K 28th January DONE. Total distance 10km - Total distance so far, 74km - total distance left to go 101km
Reading half marathon with my friend, Soph, on March 18th (although I expect she'll leave me for dust) - 21km - Once again, the weather foiled the plans and this was cancelled. No reschedule for this, so I am going to have to try to make up the extra mileage somewhere else.
Regency 10K Leamington Spa - Just home from running this DONE. Total distance 10km - Total distance so far 84km - total distance left to go 91km
Running laps of Salcey forest in April. This is a total of 6 hours where you can little as 5k to as much as an ultra. I will add in the total amount of km I manage for this race but as things stand, I need to do 42km (a full marathon) or find further races to plug the gap!
Four Farms Challenge - Deddington 10km May 13th. Issy is accompanying me on this one and she'll be running the 5Km
Stanwick Lakes 10K - June
I'll end my year with a 26 mile (41 km) marathon walk around London on September 22nd.
MK Winter half marathon December 9th 2018 (postponed from 2017) 21km
I will add further events to this as I go along. If you've got any suggestions for good 10K or half marathons, especially around Feb - May next year, you can let me know.
Cancer is one of those diseases that touches just about anyone, either directly or indirectly.
If you can give something, please do, perhaps it's a £1.75 per challenge or 1.75p per kilometre or lap, anything helps, however little.
Thanks
