Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 15th September, I will be running the Great North Run in aid of GenoMEL (donations made through Leeds Teaching Hospitals Charitable Foundation).
Why GenoMEL?
Last year, my amazing friend Jenny was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma, after first being treated for melanoma as a teenager. Jenny had tumours in her brain, lungs, liver and stomach. After a courageous fight, she sadly passed away on 9th July this year. She was just 28 years old.
GenoMEL is an international research consortium coordinated by Professor Julia Newton Bishop at St James' Hospital. It is a world leader in familial melanoma research. Jenny had been involved with Professor Newton Bishop's work for many years, as her dad also died from melanoma.
Over the last 5 and a half years, GenoMEL has published 80 scientific papers and expanded its website to help both clinicians and patients.
Please help support this vital research (and help me complete the run!), by donating now.
Thank You
