Over the course of November, I will aim swim a marathon - that’s 26.2miles, 1,687 lengths or 42,165 metres (whichever number looks less scary!) I love to swim but this will be a huge challenge for me… mainly finding the time to fit it all in but I am determined to do it because I know the good it can do.
As many of you know, I’m so proud to work at Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. I’ve been here over six years and in that time so much has changed. There is so much being done to improve things for people with lung cancer - from screening to life-saving and life-lengthening treatments - and we are at the forefront.
Each day I get the privilege to speak to and share the experience of people who have been diagnosed - some early, some living with incurable disease, but all trying to make things better for those who follow.
So now I want to do a little bit more and raise some money so we can keep doing what we’re doing:
- supporting all those who need us right now, and
- building a brighter future for the generations to come.
None of us are immune from lung cancer but taking on this challenge and prioritising my health can help reduce my own risk… and hopefully my waist line too - whilst helping those in need.
If you’ve got a couple of quid to spare, I’d be so grateful.
