On Sunday I rode 54 miles during the London to Brighton bike ride with my husband and some school friends - It was great fun, the weather was lovely and we all managed to stay together more or less!  There were around 28,000 cyclists on the day from all walks of life and there was a great atmosphere and lots of encouragement to get up some of the steep hills especially the Beacon in Brighton.  The best bit was reaching the finishing line on the seafront with lots of people clapping and cheering!  I am doing another bike ride on the 3rd July, this time just 25 miles around Farnham and I still hope to raise much needed funds for Gables Farm Dogs' and Cats' Home in Plymouth, where I have been a volunteer dog walker for over 10 years.  It is an excellent home which provides care and support for many stray dogs and cats and runs purely on public donations rather than government funding.

£20 can feed a dog for a month

£50 will buy two dog flaps for the kennels

£100 will worm and flea treat 10 animals

£250 will pay for a life saving operation

£1000 will pay for an animal care assistant to care for the animals for one month
