On the 28th May I will be attempting a half marathon to raise money for Transforming Lives for Good (TLG).

About TLG:

TLG (Transforming Lives for Good) is a Christian charity that helps churches to bring hope and a future to struggling children. From school exclusion to school holiday hunger, there are children across the UK facing some of the toughest starts in life. TLG helps change this through their three programmes:

Early Intervention – Coaching for children of primary school age who are beginning to struggle at school.

Make Lunch – Holiday lunch clubs which provide hot meals for children who, if at school, would be benefiting from free school meals.

Education Centres – Independent schools for young people who have been excluded from their mainstream secondary schools. There are currently 12 TLG Education Centres across the country.

In 2007 TLG expanded to Birmingham and partnered with the salvation army to help start a school. Since then TLG has helped so many students and families in Birmingham. I am currently working for the TLG South Birmingham school and I have had the privilege of teaching and supporting children who are struggling to be in mainstream education. Within COVID-19, the TLG South Birmingham school have been delivering food packages and work to our students and their families.

Our Fundraising project: 

Across the UK are 4 more interns and together we are walking the distance from TLG Bradford Central (the first and original TLG Education Centre) to TLG Hull (the most recent TLG Education Centre set up in 2020) to raise money for this much-needed cause. This is approximately 65 miles (so 13 miles each). If this is something you’d like to get behind, then we’d be so grateful if you could donate and help us reach our £2000 target.
