Story
Hello and thanks for looking my JustGiving page.
This year is the 50th anniversary of Vatternrundan - a 300k bike ride that takes place along the shores of Lake Vattern in Sweden each year in June. This year I will be taking part for the 10th time.
I wanted to do something different to mark this 10th trip and so I will be cycling with a group of 30 cyclists - the closest I will probably ever get to a pelaton :-) to raise money for Cyclists Fighting Cancer. CFC is a national charity that do a fabulous job, providing bicycles and specialist equipment for children who have cancer. Something as simple as a bike really can make a massive difference. Having a bike helps children to improve their confidence and build up their strength. A bike gives children the chance to join in with their family and other children, have fun and start their recovery. I love my bike and the freedom I feel, and I want children to have the chance to experience this for themselves.
I can only imagine how devastating it is as a family to face cancer and so I felt that raising money for Cyclists Fighting Cancer was a way I could help children start to rebuild their lives and start having some fun and something to make them smile.
Any donations made will go directly to the charity as I am funding all travel and accommodation costs myself. Every penny will be appreciated.
