Story
I’ve decided to do the Big Pink Jump this June in support of Breast Cancer Now - a charity that has given me so much support over the last 2 years. Being diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer aged 37 in the middle of the covid pandemic with a small child and 3 months into a new job was terrifying. I didn’t even know if I would make 40, but thankfully here I am.
Breast Cancer Now are a specialist breast cancer charity, they campaign to improve access to medicines, services and undertake ground breaking research as well as supporting those experiencing breast cancer to have access to their wide ranging services.
I can’t count the number of times I turned to Breast Cancer Now for support - for advice , information or someone to talk to - and every single time I felt less alone as I experienced breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. From their helpline to courses to campaigning work, they are a lifeline for many. Living with the shadow of the thought ‘what if it comes back’ and with triple negative having a higher recurrence rate than other breast cancers isn’t easy , but I know Breast Cancer Now will be there whenever I need them, even if just to reassure.
As I turn the big 4-0 and thankfully in much better health ( touch wood!) , I’ve decided to leap out a plane and skydive ✈️🪂 to support this incredible charity ! I know times are tough but please dig deep for any support you could offer - pennies make pounds after all !. ❤️🙏👊🏻
