Story
On Saturday 14th May, I'll be part of a team doing the Whernside and Ingleborough Circular Walk to raise money for projects in Romania supported by The Smiles Foundation.
A group of us from City Evangelical Church, Leeds are heading out to Romania at May half term on a week long mission trip with The Smiles Foundation. We'll be working on projects with Smiles while we're out there and as part of our trip, want to raise some money for those projects so that Smiles can continue doing the amazing work they are to support families and communities in Romania.
The route we're walking is a 13.8 mile loop with a 3,546 ft elevation gain - and will definitely be a challenge for me!
Anything you are able to give will be massively appreciated and very well used.
The Smiles Foundation has been working in Romania since the 1990s, just after the fall of Communism. We have over 20 projects serving vulnerable people such as children, the homeless, those with disabilities, victims of abuse and minority people groups. We do that in a number of different ways, sharing Love in a practical way (eg housing, food and medical support), sharing Hope that the situations of those we minister to can be changed (eg. education programmes), and ultimately of course, the life change of Faith.
